For the three days of the festival all of Myanmar is lit by oil lamps, fire balloons, candles and even mundane electric lamps.

Feriado seculare : La luna llena la noche de Tazaungmon es un motivo para otro festival de las luces , conocido como Tazaungdaing. Esta fiesta se celebra en todo el Estado de Shan - En Taunggyi, hay competiciones de globos en la noche. En algunas partes, también hay competiciones de tejido durante la noche las mujeres jóvenes birmanas demostran su destreza en el tejido tratando de producir túnicas para las imágenes de Buda entre el anochecer y el amanecer. Los resultados, acabados o no, se donó a los monjes. El tejido de las competiciones más grandes tienen lugar en Shwedagon en Yangon Payá.
